Valkyrie Who Lost Her Memory
by Keith Muir
After helping Thor fight a giant, Kayla the Valkyrie went on a ship to cross the sea so that she could visit her sister who lives on Ruby Island.
Suddenly, a sea monster rose up from the sea and attacked her ship. Kayla drew her sword and tried her best to fight the monster. However, the monster struck Kayla on the head with one of its tentacles, knocking her unconscious.
One hour later, Kayla woke up on a wooden plank floating in the sea. She jumped off and swam to shore on a nearby island. She lost consciousness again after swimming to shore.
Again, she woke up and found that she was in a bed. A woman with black hair entered the room. The black haired woman said to her, “Sister, you’re awake. What happened to you?”
“I found you unconscious on the shore. What happened to your ship?”. “Who are you? ...I don’t remember anything,” said Kayla. “I am your sister Fiona; you seem to have lost your memory” said Fiona.
Kayla got up and stormed off on her own, leaving her sister’s house. She journeyed to the other end of the small island where she came across a beautiful statue of a woman. Fiona followed her sister to the end of Ruby Island and found Kayla sitting down in front of Helena’s statue.
“Why did you storm off like that, come back home with me Kayla” said Fiona. Kayla told Fiona to go away with a hand gesture while turning her body away. Fiona said, “Fine, I will leave you alone”. Fiona walked away to make her way back home.
Once Fiona reached a distance far away from Kayla, she was attacked by a dragon that lives on the island. Kayla had no idea what was currently happening to her sister. The spirit of both Kayla and Fiona’s departed mother entered into the statue. The statue became a living person who can move and speak.
The Statue said “Kayla, why are you acting so cold toward your sister?”. “Who are you?”, asked Kayla. “I am the spirit of your dearly departed mother, both you and Fiona are my children”, said The Statue. “I don’t remember anything, I can not remember Fiona being my sister, I feel so confused” said Kayla.
“Even if you don’t remember, that doesn’t change the truth that family comes first. Remember what I tell you, my child” said The Statue.
Suddenly, the statue stopped moving and became a lifeless statue again. Kayla got up and started to run back to Fiona’s house. Within 8 minutes of running, Kayla saw her sister. There was a dragon attacking her. Kayla drew her sword and charged forward stabbing the dragon in its chest. The beast turned over and died.
Kayla quickly asked Fiona if she is alright. Fiona answered, “ Yes, I am fine, dear sister”. The two sisters hugged each other.
Even though Kayla’s memory did not come back, she and Fiona lived happily.
